I just got a male blue fronted amazon he says hello and hello there but he wont let me touch him at all?

I hate to say this but you may never be able to touch him. We have a blue front that lives with my son and his family and he can't be touched.I really love the bird and he loves to talk. He will answer you just like he knows what you are saying.Don't know if your bird was hand fed as a baby. My son's wasn't. Anything that needs to be done to the bird, my son has to put on welders gloves to keep from getting bitten, but he is crazy about the bird.You could try putting a thick towel over your hand and arm. See if he will step on. if he will, each time slide the towel up to where more of your skin is exposed until you no longer need the towel. I knew a lady that tamed cockatoo's like that.Also try visiting with him on the floor.I've also read that the cage should be low enough that you are taller than it making you the boss, not the bird.
